Dear Panama,

Wow! You have been a dream. Something I never thought could happen. Can you believe that my first month on the world race will be done with in one week? Then I will be heading to Jaco, Costa Rica! Honestly that seems very surreal. It feels just like yesterday I was on a plane heading to Panama.

Incase you were wondering where I was staying this month, We were placed with a YWAM group which is Jucum in Spanish, and YWAM stands for Youth With a Mission. The people here are incredible! I loved getting to experience so many different ways to love and serve the people of Panama. I built so many cool relationships with the people here, and I am so grateful for how they opened their hearts to me.

I want to take some time to introduce to you some of the sweetest people I have met this month.

Meet Berta. We met her during bible distribution. She invited us into her home and shared many stories about her life. She has experienced so much pain and loss in her life. She couldn’t go more than a few minutes without crying. Even through her pain and hurts, her faith in Jesus was so evident and unshakable. It inspired to me. The love she has for others is contagious. I am forever thankful to have met her. Please continue to pray for me. She needs prayer specifically for healing over her knee. She fell a few weeks and hurt herself pretty bad. She can’t even go to church anymore due to her injury because she can barely walk.

Meet Irving. Wow, He has been such a blessing to me. He is so patient and kind. I came to panama not knowing much Spanish and he constantly encouraged me and helped me learn it. When you are around him, you will be constantly reminded of the love Jesus has for us. His smile is infectious. He radiates light. I am so thankful I got the chance to meet him and spend the month with him. I will miss him for sure!

Meet Andy, Miguel ,and Felix. Today as we were doing bible distribution we went to their house and they were so welcoming. Our team gave Andy and Felix a bible. What Felix said to us stuck with me. He said, “This is the best gift I have ever received. I have never had a bible so thank you so much.” That made me SO happy that Jesus led us to them and we got the chance to bless them. These three men were so funny! They had us cracking up by the jokes they were telling us. We were blessed to have met them.

These three kids stole my heart. I mean look at them!

Financial update:

As of right now I have raised $10,136! That’s incredible, Thank you SOOO much for your generosity. I need $2,864 by September 30. (That is basically a month away) I have faith that God will provide those funds for me. Be praying for me financially because it is hard to fundraise while in a different country! If you feel led to donate to my trip you can click this link and donate.lindseybrown.theworldrace.org
