What does compassion look like to you? There is no right or wrong answer to this question. To me, compassion is taking to the time listen to those around you and respond in love. A love with no agenda. A love founded on the pure intention of loving others.  To Jesus, compassion was focusing on the person right in front of Him like he was the most important person in the world because to Jesus he was.

This concept became so real to me when I saw this Chick-fil-A video earlier this week.

“Every life has a story…if we bother to read it.”

Those words hold so much power. How excited do you get when people take an interest in you? When you are having a difficult day, how loved do you feel when someone notices, listens to your story, and affirms your worth in God?

That is compassion and that is what the World Race is for me. Not for me to create a story of a life time, but to live for a year pursuing the stories of others. To listen full heartedly to where they’ve been and where they are now. To respond with unconditional love.
