A Typical Day in India

7:30a: Wake up. Not because it is time to wake up but because my tent is on the roof of a house in India and the sun comes up early and is very hot.

7:45a: Eat a bowl of cereal and read my Bible.

8:30a: Bible study with my team and some girls from the other team. Our first topic was the Holy Spirit and it was amazing!

9:30a: Get dressed for the day. This so far means a t-shirt that covers my shoulders, a long skirt and leggings so my knees and ankles are covered. We get our punjabis soon so now I will have those! A punjabi is a traditional Indian outfit where there is a brightly patterned tunic and loose fitting long pants or leggings.

10:00a: Leave for Victory Home to do maintenance work. Victory used to house all the children before SCH took on a more foster home feel. Having that many children living in a house for so long allowed for the place to get dirty and beat up. Since so many children have move out, we are able to clean and repair!

1:30p: Lunch break! Street food and spicy rice!

3:00p: Go to Wisdom Home. This is the home I am at for the month. At Wisdom, I have the most amazing 10 little boys. This house doesn’t have a foster mom so Kristen and I are stepping into that role for a few hours a day. There will be a handful of blogs coming and you will get to meet all my little men!

6:00p: Dinner time! More street food!

7:30p: Feedback and team time!

9:00p: Insanity work out with Kaylee.

10:00p: Bucket shower! I only really rinse my body because I wish my hair only once a week. (Lice hate dirty hair.)

10:15p: Read and journal!

11:00p: Back to bed in my tent on the roof!
