Name: Gabe
Age: 3
Gabe is one of the boys that instantly stole my heart. He is literally a perfect little gentleman. He has the best manners of any three year old I have ever met. He is extremely reserved and never asks for attention, but it is so obviously that he values any one on one time you get to spend with him.
One of the things that first stole my heart is how cute Gabe is in his Zip Zac. A Zip Zac is this plastic, Hot-Wheel-looking wheel chair that sits low to the ground. Also, he gets cold really easily so when we have cooler temperatures, my day was instantly made when I came to Wisdom home and Gabe was dressed in a oxford sweater, ear muffs, long pants and bright red socks!
He was born with hydrocephalus and spina bifida. When he arrived at SCH his spine was nearly growing out of his body. As a result, he is paralyzed from the waist down. He also received some burns on his legs from an accident and had to have a skin graft.
Gabe is so inquisitive and is extremely intelligent. He knows a lot of words and phrases in English and he and I have been working on colors, body parts, and talking on the phone. My favorite phrase, hands down, that he says is “I love you” because he is just so stinkin’ precious! Gabe has the sweetest smile and cutest laugh which comes out numerous times a day! Gabe is definitely the little boy who has touched my heart the most and is going to be the most difficult to leave.
