Hey there! I’m Lindsey. I’m so happy that you’ve decided to join me on this journey! It doesn’t matter if you’re my family, my closest of friends, or if we’ve never met before. If you’re here, you’re always welcome and we’re a family. Here is just a glimpse of my life if we have not met! This is going to be a little scattered, so I apologize in advance.

My name is Lindsey Sharp, and I’m a 17 years old. I grew up in Norman, Oklahoma with a family that I love and a house constantly full of animals. Through the good and the bad, my parents and brother could not have been more supportive than they have been all my life.

I have an unhealthy obsession with Chacos, red hair, world maps, and Sonic cherry limeades. I live in big t-shirts and my ENO hammock goes where I go. I’m a big fan of people and a strong extrovert, so I’ve never been very good at being alone. I’m a choir/theatre kid. My friends are my world.

If you haven’t figured this out by now… I’M GOING ON THE WORLD RACE. Wow. Every time I say that (or type it) it blows my mind. But here’s a little background on what ministry has looked like for me leading up to this point.

I’ve always been fascinated with God and learning more about who He is. I’ve grown up in church and people are my heart, so ever since I can remember I’ve been interested in missions. When 8th grade rolled around the corner, I begged my mom to let me go serve in Haiti with my church. Long story short, the next two summers I found myself in Haiti. I fell in love with the world around me, with different cultures, with bringing the Kingdom to nations, and with God’s love for everything that I’ve named off and more.

I’ve known that God had planned a gap year for me since sophomore year of high school. I wasn’t quite sure what this meant, where it would take me, or who I would be going with at the time. From there, the online search began. I found the World Race late sophomore/early junior year, but blew it off completely. Life went on and I decided to focus on the ministry that God has placed me in here at home. I became an intern at my church under children ministry, but the Race never left the back of my mind. Overtime I got online, I would find myself searching through World Race blogs. Over much prayer and consideration, I took a leap of faith and applied. I am so happy I did, because look where we are now!

This journey has been crazy already and it has barley started. I am so excited for whats to come, but I can’t do it without your help! Please please please keep myself, my future squad and team, and Adventures in Missions as a whole in your prayers. That is the biggest thing that is needed rightness and I cannot say thank you enough for all the support!! Second, if you are able to in any way, please consider supporting me financially. I am trusting God to lead the way in fundraising a little over $13,000 for this next year. If you would like to partner with me in my journey, there is a link right next to this blog called “support me.” Again, I cannot say thank you enough for the support, and thank you for taking the time to read this!
