Nothing is mine.
For the past 7 months, life has been transient. People come and go out of my life. Teams don’t stay the same and neither does ministry. I sleep on beds, airport floors, or sleeping pads. I don’t have a place that’s just mine. If I find a café I like 20 other people find it too and it’s never again a place of solitude but of long lines. I don’t have a ministry. The things that are special to me all get shared. Then a month later-it all changes.
And someone new comes to the place that just stole my heart.
Today though, I’m the someone new.
We just arrived in Thailand. I can’t believe how blessed I am to be here in Chiang Mai at Lighthouse in Action. There is a team here for a few more days and they’ve spent this week showing us the ropes.
They’ve shown us the way to Monk Chat. A surprisingly refreshing and fun ministry where we go to talk with Buddhist Monks. They’ve also shown us the way to the red light district. They walked us through the heart of prostitution in the city.
Their time here is ending and ours is beginning. It’s time for us to take the baton from them. To continue the work they’ve done. And at the end of the month, it’ll be our turn to pass it on.
It’s ok that nothing really stays the same because nothing belongs to me anyways. We’re given moments. Today, I’ll be thankful for that.
Please take a few minutes to read about this ministry-it’s truly amazing!
