Today is the last day of the World Race.
This thing I have been doing and have been a part of for a year.
Its crazy. In so many ways.
This journey started way back in my college days. Sitting in class and paying attention of course, but also just reading peoples blogs and dreaming of one day doing this very thing.
The sense of restlessness and whispers from the Spirit pushed me to quit my career, put complete trust in the Lord, and say yes. And that YES has been life changing.
A year ago this month I miraculously received the funds for this dream to become a reality. It's been an amazing journey that started in Central America on to Southeast Asia, and then to Africa. And now, I get to continue this journey as I head home tomorrow. This season is ending but I am ready and excited for a new season in America.
I've experienced the rural villages and tribes of Panama, the slums of Costa Rica, the holistic care for children in Nicaragua, the hope for abandoned babies in Honduras, finding opportunities in Malaysia, teaching in a buddhist school in Thailand, seeing the unreached in Laos, the village life in Cambodia in 115 degree heat, feeding centers of Swaziland, a radical and amazing community in Botswana, loving children at a dumpsite in Namibia, and being apart of LIV village in South Africa. The rain, the heat, the cold, the tears, the sickness, the smiles, the joy, the goodbyes, the language barrier, the funny food, the beautiful scenery have all captured my heart.
Through each of these months, the Lord has given me so much of his kingdom through the people we have met.
So as I wrap up this season, I want to tell all of you THANK YOU with my whole heart for the support, the encouragement, and the prayers. God is so good!
