Yesterday, I found out our tentative race route!! We will remain open to the Lord’s leading, so we could end up in different countries, but these areas are pretty set. I’m so thrilled about it. So, here we go:
On Sept 28, I will fly out of LAX
October- Philippines
November- China
December- Kenya (Christmas in KENYA!!!!!)
January- Uganda
February- Ethiopia or other Central African country
March- INDIA!!!
April- Romania
May- Bosnia, Serbia or other Eastern Europe country
June- Mexico
July/August- Guatemala/Nicaragua
I also want to give you all an update on my support raising. I have been so blessed this month, my support has gone from 25% to about 42%. I also had a great fundraiser at Taffy’s Pizza. Over $1,000 worth of pizza was bought on my behalf. It was such a blessing to see so many people coming out to support me, and great to share with people about the trip. 20% of those sales was donated to my account. There is still a ways to go, so lets fill up the World Race Nalgene!!
Since my May update, I also met up with 3 other world racers and went camping for a night in Carlsbad. It was a great time and so awesome to actually meet some of the people I will travel around the world with. I’ve met 3 of the racers, but we’ve added a lot more than that. At this point we have over 50 people as part of our squad.
So there are now 104 days until launch and 47 days until training camp. I can’t wait to get to embark on this adventure. I am still training physically and and am beginning the books we are all reading together as a team before we head off. God is really preparing me and my team as we get ready for this. Its incredible how strong the October team is already, even though we haven’t ever actually met (most of us at least), we are so close and such a great support to one another. We have such an important prayer ministry among the team, I’m so blessed to have them all in my life. I can’t wait to meet my World Race family in August.
Prayer Requests:
- Physical training continues to improve
- I make time to really dwell in God’s presence, both in prayer and in the word
- That I live in the here and now and enjoy the time I have left with the people I love in SB
- That I finish my work at Westmont well
- That my relationships with current friends and family, new friends/my world race family and God grow stronger in the coming months.
