Kelly Railey….. seriously just the sound of her name brings
a smile to anyone’s face who knew her. She was the second oldest of six
children but the “mother hen” to all of them. She was born with the natural
ability to just make you feel joy. As far back as I remember she was the one
that was the center of attention but not because she was loud or making a scene
but just because everyone gravitated towards her. I am pretty sure if you were
to ask any of the nieces in our family what aunt they had the best relationship
with, Kelly would be it. She always remembered your birthday and she never
missed a monumental moment in any of our lives.

The best part about Kelly was she didn’t just live a life of
joy and remembering birthdays. She lived a life of example. She literally never
went 5 minutes without saying “God”. Granit most of the time it was “Lord,
Bless her soul”, haha but you knew she was a Christian. She had the most faith
of anyone I’ve ever known. And that is exactly how she lived her life. She found
out she had breast cancer and from the moment she found out she had it she KNEW
God was going to heal her. She had the ultimate faith. She knew what the Bible
had said and lived by it. Literally up until the day she died, all she ever
said was God is going to heal me. And secretly I think the whole family had
doubts. But not Kelly, she repeated it to herself daily and to everyone who
came to visit her.

The greatest thing about Kelly is she lived with no doubts.
She chose to die in faith rather than living in doubt. Some people thought it
was crazy that she didn’t get treatments but I beg to differ. She died how she
lived, trusting God. Hebrews 2:14-15 Death had to power to her. She knew her
God and she knew scripture. She didn’t live by experiences, but by the truth of
the word. Her experiences (and people) told her that she wouldn’t be healed and
that it was impossible, but scripture told her that whatever you ask in Jesus
name He will provide. Some people think she lost the battle to cancer but she
actually got the ultimate healing and entered to the door to eternity with her
Father sooner than we thought she should. God was listening, He saw her faith
and knew her heart. He may not have answered our prayers how we thought He
should, but He had her best interests in mind, in the end she is rewarded for
never doubting.

That’s how I want to live my life. I want to trust God so
fully that nothing can make my faith waver. A faith that believes Truth ( which
is God’s word), that no matter how God decides to let the scenario play out
that I kept the faith, trusting He is always with me and will never leave me.
That my experiences with things I have seen happen or things that I haven’t
seen happen don’t matter to me, because those aren’t truth but merely something
that once happened.
