As the leader of an all female team, I get that most people would or do look at us as the “feminist” team, that we must have some type of ego/pride thing going on that we don’t need men in our lives to lead us and minister to us. Which is completely the wrong idea, it’s actually because we are lacking men in the Church today.
I have seen it over and over in country after country. Women leading the church, women preaching, and churches filled with women and children, with either none or very few men. I actually asked an overseer of a group of churches in Africa, “why are women preaching and leading these churches?” He replied there just aren’t any men to lead them, so we have no other option.
My heart breaks for this generation, and for the false image we have set up of what a man should really be. We believe that if a man works 50 or more hours a week he’s a man of honor trying to provide for his family. Or a man who doesn’t show weakness is a man of great strength. Or a man who lets everyone know that he doesn’t relyh on a God to give him wisdom and provide for his family, that he does it all on his own. Or a man who thinks that he doesn’t even need a family or a wife to live because he likes his personal space and time. Or men who aren’t willing to stand up for something they believe in because that’s not what a real man does, a real man lets people think he doesn’t care about anything, too chill to care.
That is not a real man. A real man stands up for what he believes in, a real man cares for his family but puts his God before them, a real man admits and shows his weaknesses so that our God can bless him through his weaknesses. A real man leaves his job if it gets in the way of his family. A real man stands up and leads the people around him to Christ because he cares for their souls and where they will spend eternity. A real man brings Heaven to Earth…………
As a woman in the church, and a leader, I believe that men and women are created equally. We are all on the same level and have the same value and worth in Gods eyes but we clearly have different roles. Men are to be the head of the household as Christ is the head of the Church. They are also to be the leaders of the church and we are to be the helpers and encouragers.
Men, you were created for more than this box that we have placed you in. You were created to lead the masses to an eterenity with God! You were created to love and to be loved. You were created to show where you are weak so that God can bless you through it. You were created to show your emotions. You were created for greater things than working a 9-5 or even a 7-7. You were created to be bold and fight for justice. You were created to care for the orphans and help the widows. You were created to be the most passionate creatures on the planet.
I believe that there are men out there that are all of these thing; they just have been suppressed by a false image of what a man, that the media and our societies have placed for them to model their lives after. And if our societies and media’s aren’t for Christ then what are they for?
MEN, if you aren’t leading the people around you to Christ, then where are you leading them???
