Hey Supporters! As you may know, we are working with SHE ministries in Phuket, Thailand this month (http://www.shethailand.org/).
There are so many opportunities for God to use our teams here through
bar ministry, developing relationships with the women, inviting them to
lunches and offering them job alternatives with SHE ministries. We
will be doing prayer walks through the streets of the red light
district during the day, and going in groups of four to the bars at
night from 9:30-11:30.
I have never felt so compassionate about a ministry. I don’t think many people realize how big of a need there is to minister to these women who “think” that they have no other choice in life but to work in the red light district. This is something that when I was coming on the race I felt my hearts call on this ministry more than others. I knew God was going to use my spiritual gifts in this ministry, But I need your support in order to have the resources I need to plant seeds and make lasting God-impressions.
In
order to socialize with the women in the bars each night, we must make
some sort of drink purchase (coke, sprite, bottled water) or we will be
asked to leave the bar. There are hundreds of bars in the red light
district, and we will be attending approximately 3-4 bars each night.
Each drink costs approximately $2, which does not seem like a lot, but
when you add it up, that is $8/night times the number of total bar
visits in the month. We will be visiting the bars at least three times a
week for four weeks, resulting in at least $100 in drinks alone. In
addition, there is potential for lunch dates with the women we develop
relationships with at the bars. This
will allow us the chance to talk more about their options and tell them
about Christ–both taboo subjects while the women are working in the
bars. Of course, if you invite a woman to lunch, its expected that you will pay for her if she meets you.

am praying that many of you will feel called to help support me
personally this month so that I can have the resources needed to make a
significant impact here. I am trying to raise approximately $200 to use
for ministry in the bars and for lunches with the women. I will need
to be spending this money through my personal account not through the AIM account.

I am SO excited for the relational aspect of this ministry. Each
drink is more than just a drink, its an opportunity to develop a
relationship, plant seeds and potentially change the course of a woman’s
life forever. What could me more incredible than that? Even
though you aren’t here with me, this is an opportunity for you to
partner with me this month and experience the fruit of our time here in
Phuket.

I would like to give a personal testimony of how this whole thing is working out. As I was sitting in the floor writing this blog I looked up and in walk two of the women that we met on the first night/ first bar we went into! They were here at SHE ministries to check it out and decide for themselves if this is where they want to be living if they decide to get out of the current situation they are in! I really can’t believe that the 8 bucks we spent in the bar that night will now change these women’s lives forever! Please support me so we can continue to rescue souls and further the Kingdom of GOD!!!!
