For the last year and a half, I've assumed I would be spending my 25th birthday in Latvia (I assumed, because as racers, we are told to be flexible, because it is always possible that things would changed.) However, I had no idea what that would entail.
Well, here's what is entailed:
– Snow! Although, it usually never snows at this time of year, but on my birthday, it snowed the most since we've been here.
– A large dinner with 18 people, including: 3 Latvian friends, 1 American missionary who has lived in Latvia for the last 6 years, 8 squadmates, 1 squad leader (who used to be my team leader), and my team.
– A fun game of fishbowl, where some of the words were: "Mullet", "Armpit sweat stains", "Pg 724 of the King James Bible", "Bouncing off the Walls", "Hashtag Apple Sucks" and "Squatty Potty"
– Birthday goodies that including freshly baked chocolate chip cookies, ice cream cake, Dr. Pepper, a latvian bible, and tulips.
– And the Latvian birthday tradition being lifted in the air (on a chair) 25 times (don't worry, the video will be posted soon)

My birthday was also filled with many well wishes from friends back home (which I am extremely thankful for) and donations towards my India trip (Also extremely thankful for). Thanks to recent donations, I am almost fully funded for India. If you would like to still donate towards that trip, you can go to my India blog (lindseyIndia2013.blogspot.com) and donate through the paypal link. Thank you so much and God Bless! And a special thanks to my world race supporters– if it hadn't been for you donations, I would not be where I am right now!
