So there are two people in my WR profile pic. Obviously, I am the girl on the left. So who is the little girl I am holding? If you have read all of my blogs, or if you've talked to me sometime in the last 8 months, you know. But just in case you haven't, I want to share this special girl's story.
Her name is Jodi and she captured my heart during my very first day of ministry on the race. Jodi is three years old and she lives in a special needs orphanage in India. She has an intellectual disability and Hepatitis B. She also has a heart-melting smile, an infectious giggle, and she makes the cutest noise when she is frustrated. It has been 8 months since I have seen her, but there isn't a day that goes by where I don't think about her. While in Nepal (our second country), the Lord started putting it on my heart to go back to India, to work specifically with Jodi and teach her to walk. It seemed crazy, but the more and more I thought prayed about it, the more right it felt. In December, I told my squad that I wasn't going home with them at the end of May. In January, I bought a plane ticket from Hyderabad, India, to LAX (I arrive home July 4th!), and in February, I bought my flight from Riga, Latvia (where my squad will end our race), to Hyderabad.

A lot of people are surprised to hear that I am only going back for one month. Right now, this is what I am feeling led to do- it's my "12th month" of the race, as one of my friends put it. I know God has so much in store for June. I cannot wait to see Jodi again, along with all of the other kids and staff at Sarah's Covenant Home. It's scary because so far, I have only raised $125 out $2,400 that I need for the trip. Unlike the race, though, it doesn't matter whether or not the funds are raised by June– I am going. On May 29th, I will be on a plane for India. The fear of being in debt when I get home is definitely there, but I am trusting that God will provide. I know He has called me to India, and as Jesus says in Matthew, "Do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself."
Will you prayerfully consider joining me on this adventure. To find out more about my trip, please see my India blog: LindseyIndia2013.blogspot.com
Thank you and God bless!
