Every morning we are blessed to take part in 4 hours of
prayer and worship at Change Point Church’s house of prayer. You might be
thinking…wow…that’s a long time. You are right…it is a chunk of time that can
seem to drag on due to being tired or unfocused. I can also fly by due to
hearing from the Lord, and by being totally engulfed with the Holy Spirit, and
God’s presence and love.
For me, it’s been a time of long talks with God, patiently
waiting, impatiently waiting, reading God’s word, and questioning Him. In the
states I’ve never been very diligent to have 4 hours of quiet time with the
Lord during the week, and even though this was expected of our team…it has been
EXACTLY WHAT WAS NEEDED. Thank you Jesus for knowing my heart and my needs…more
than I do.
Here is a mental picture of what the 4 hours look like every
morning:
Open sanctuary with roughly 50 people spaced out. Diving
into the Word. People pacing in the back while praying and reading. All forms of worship. Extreme
focus. Smiles on peoples faces while in prayer. Tears for some. Someone on
stage singing prayers and praises out to God with either their guitar or
keyboard. People standing in praise while the sun is pouring through the
windows. The Holy Spirit MOVING.
This week, the Lord took me through some of the Old
Testament…example: 1 Samuel.
Wow….those stories are crazy. God revealed to me and reminded me of His
awesome voice, direction, anointing, and follow through. He ALWAYS follows
through on His promises in a BIG way. Take a few minutes to read it and see!
The Holy Spirit revealed so much and one verse he pointed me
to was John 16:13. I’m holding tight to it. I’m seeking and asking for the Holy
Spirit to be ever present wherever I am and in whatever I’m doing.
I want MORE
OF HIM.
I want MORE TRUTH.
I want the GIFTS OF THE SPIRIT.
I want what God
wants.
I want to go DEEP with Him.
I’m not sure what that looks like but
I’m willing to find out.
John 16: 13
When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all
truth. He will not speak on his own but will tell you what he has heard. He
will tell you about the future.
A house of prayer is a designated time is something we can
ALL have wherever you are. I believe it’s something that is needed to cause a
movement. YES, God will do what He chooses but I know that He wants to move in
a HUGE way when we give Him control and when we believe He will show up and move. I truly believe God is waiting for his
children to become utterly faithful to Him and to come before Him… together.
To
come together as a true body and pray for ONE ANOTHER,
to pray for NATIONS,
to
pray for HEALING…
and to pray for more of the Holy Spirit to move in BIG ways.
