Dear Friends and Family,
God has placed an incredible ministry opportunity that is both challenging and exciting in front of me. Starting at the beginning of January 2016, I will be leaving for 11 months to 11 different countries through a missionary organization called The World Race through Adventures in Missions. Our trip’s main focus is to bring the love of Christ to the “least of the these”. The unique thing about this trip and what really stole my heart was the many different ways we will be able to share the love of Christ.
So what will I be doing for 11 months and where will I be going? We will be traveling to Peru, where we plan to partner with local long-term ministry contacts and also get our hands dirty with some construction work for a Bible translation organization. In Ecuador our main focus will be on street evangelism and also children’s and coffee shop ministry. While in Columbia we will be able to love on some street kids for a whole month! In Montenegro we hope to bring the knowledge of hope and healing found through a life with Christ. Bulgaria is a main trafficking hub, so our main focus will be on reaching out to the women and children involved. In Albania our plan is to build relationships and friendships with students. While in Nepal we will be spending time with widows and orphans, and focusing on youth ministries. India is struggling with poverty, human trafficking, forced prostitution, and religious prosecution in which we plan to immerse ourselves in the culture and help where we can. In Malaysia we plan to share the good news of great joy, and the hope that can be found through a life in Christ. Thailand is currently being overrun by AIDS/HIV and prostitution, so we plan to change lives in the city, just as Jesus befriended prostitutes. While in Cambodia, which population is currently 96% Buddhist, we plan to focus our efforts to the streets. My prayer is that our presence will bring hope and truth to those that society deems “untouchable.”
As you can imagine being the “hands and feet” of Christ to this extent requires a significant amount of prayer and financial support. Prayer support is greatly needed. Prayers as we prepare for our trip, our travel, safety in our work and that our ministry will be productive. I also need to raise $16,962, with my first deadline fast approaching.
