Whether you have seen the Mickey Mouse version, the new(er) Jim Carey cartoon, or kick it old school and actually read A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens, pretty much all of us are at least familiar with the young boy Tiny Tim who at the end of the story says the famous line “God bless us, every one!!”. There are moments on the Race when I feel incredibly tiny in comparison to the God I love and serve, this month is absolutely one of those times and I’m so very thankful for it.

As I mentioned before we are working with an incredible organization this month and we feel so blessed by them, materially yes, but oh so much more in a spiritual sense. We have already had a lovely church service here with the families that live in the Beam compound, and an incredible night of prayer last night. Louis, the husband of our main contact Erika, will be leading us in a Bible study a couple times a week and tonight we are having a girl’s night with Erika and Jeanine (Jeanine and Mike are an American couple from Colorado, they are wicked awesome). On Friday we are having a giant Christmas baking day, Saturday is Christmas Eve (and my teammate Amanda’s birthday, woooo!!!!) and that night we are having a traditional South African barbeque, called a brie(sp?) over an outside firepit, and we plan on sleeping outside in our hammocks. I could keep going about all the crazy blessings we are being given this month but then my blog would be waaay to long, so suffice it to say that Tiny Tim hasn’t got anything on me in the blessings department.

Also, shout out to my fam: Moms, Papa, Lauren, Sarah, Leeann, Morgs, Daniel, Brother-in-law, Kalbug, and the little man Drew (aka The Kev), I miss yall more than I can say, I love you with so much of my heart sometimes its probably not fair to other people I meet, and if you love me at all you won’t tell me about Christmas dinner, that just isn’t nice. Love yall so so much!
P.S. Kalbug, I’m counting on you to keep our footy pajama tradition alive and kickin’. Sissy is so proud of you, making fabulous grades, taking care of the fam since I’m gone, but most importantly just being the special and lovely young lady you are. Love you beautiful!
P.P.S. Daniel Cook (hopefully soon to be Clement), pretty much everyone in the world (or at least all the countries I’ve been to) knows a story about you, how smart you are, how really great you are at gymnastics, and pretty much how ridiculously awesome I think you are, so I’m going to say it on here as well. I think you are such an incredible young man and I cannot wait to see what the Lord has planned for you. Love you D!!
So much love to all the people who have made this incredible journey possible, your support and encouragement mean the world to me, I can’t begin to explain how loved I feel to know that so many of you are praying over me, know that I do the same for you.
Merry Christmas to all and to all a…(insert whatever time of day it is for you and know that I wish you a merry one)!!!
