I was never quite sure what launch week would look like, or what we as a squad would do during this time, and now I know, sort of.  We’ve been meeting together in the mornings and evenings, corporately and then during the day we’ve had lots of team time.  Learning to live in community with one another, living honestly with one another, and honestly admitting that we are imperfect people and that each of us has struggles.  We have already had some issues that needed resolving, but after talking through them, Team Daniel realized that we would much rather be up front about our junk, and get it out there rather than letting frustrations and annoyances grow into something much larger than they actually are.

Some WR pals with the ginormous city of Quito in the background, such an awesome view!

Quito is such a cool city and I’m so glad that this is where we are starting our race, and for Team Daniel, where we will be staying for our first month of ministry.  The weather has been a bit crazy, cold and rainy sometimes and warm and sunny at others.  We have had lots of adventures, in and around Quito including a trip to the equator and a ride up to the top of one of the mountains overlooking the city in a gondola. Me on both sides of the world at once! smiley

This picture can't quite capture how awesome this mountain was. So gorgeous.

Our squad breaks up tomorrow into teams to go to our ministry sites, so tonight is our last night as a full squad for at least a month, and more likely three.  We have gotten so close, and having to leave one another is just another challenge of being a World Racer.

So overall, this has been a crazy, emotional, challenging, and exciting week. I can’t wait to see God has in store for us over the coming weeks and months and I’m so excited to be able to share with all of you what happens next.
