On Saturday we had a play date with Mike and Jeanine, they took us (again all squishing into the Land Rover, you learn how to clown car very quickly on the WR) to downtown Pretoria to see the Union Buildings (government buildings) and to play at the huge park that surrounds them.  I really wanted to be able to go into the buildings but apparently normal people are allowed in there, sad day. So to alleviate my sadness I did cartwheels in the grass and spent the day playing around with my teammates and Mike and Jeanine.  We walked around the gorgeous flower beds, stuck our feet in a fountain (probably illegal, I could have gone to jail, such a rebel), did our standard jumping picture, followed by Em’s designated handstand picture, and then walked down to the picnic table area and had a lovely picnic lunch.  Then the boys started playing around with some bouncy balls that Mike had brought along, so hilarious and sweet to all our boys playing together.

            We are SUCH good jumpers…

I almost fell out of a tree, didn’t, and then was scared to climb down, my oh-so-loving teammates decided that it was a great time to video me so at some point I’ll put that on a blog (we don’t have the interwebs capability to load a video here).

After my tree scare, we started playing a rather ridiculous game of trying to get the bouncy balls into the hole in the middle of our picnic table…yea riveting right?  But seriously we had so much fun. I’ll explain the steps:

Step 1: Acquire a picnic table with a hole.
Step 2: Acquire a bouncy ball.
Step 3: Get some friends who don’t mind doing silly things (or a WR team).
Step 4: Sit around the table and give each person a ball.
Step 5: Start trying to roll them into said hole.
Step 6: Once everyone has accomplished this move on to
Step 7: Bounce the ball into the hole.
Step 8: Once everyone has accomplished this, move on to
Step 9: One shot throw into the hole
Step 10: Step 9 is impossible to move on to just throwing the balls at each other.

After an intense bouncy ball table game session we moved on to the lay in the grass portion of the day, followed by a bit of shopping from the local vendors who set up tables all along the edge of the park. Then it was time to head home, so we all squished back into the car and homeward bound were we.

So I bet you are curious about what we are up to next month, well I won’t hold you in suspense. Not that we really know much of anything yet, but I’ll tell ya what I know.  We are living in a village called Chibuto, Mozambique. We are working with two organizations called Africa on Fire and Houses of Hope, doing a couple of different things, village outreach, playing with little ones, possibly teaching English classes, preaching (probably just for the boys), and some construction for the orphanage that is being built.  We don’t really know much about our living situation or anything else for that matter. I also have no idea what our internet situation will be like so don’t expect to hear much from me this coming month either.  Love y’all, thanks for reading!
