I decided I should share a little bit of my story so some of you can better understand why I am going on this mission.
My sophomore year of high school I went to a summer church camp that absolutely changed my life. I rededicated my life to Christ and was feeling called to full time ministry. My small group leader first told me about the world race during that week and it has never left my mind since. During this time, I was really big on softball and was trying to go to college for it. And one night that just changed. God spoke so loudly to me and told me I couldn’t play softball in college and carry out the plan He had for me. So after months of trying to convince myself that I could do both- He finally broke me down and I quit (and it’s still something that I miss more than anything). Time passed and I mentioned to my parents about the world race and was completely shot down (sorry mom and dad for throwing you under the bus). So, we started applying for college and I thought I was going to go to KSU this fall. However when I got home from Nicaragua last April I knew that was not the case. I went ahead and applied for the world race on my own and told my parents after it was already done (well, my mom knew when I needed help getting the application fee). And then when I was sitting in calculus one day I got the call that I was accepted.
Then the hard part came. I got accepted a month before the first financial deadline of $9,000 was due. But God has moved so much in the past 2 weeks. In TWO WEEKS, I repeat only TWO WEEKS, God has provided a little over $6,500. I am in awe that this is happening, and it truly is amazing to see miracles happen right in front of my eyes. It’s the biggest clarification that this is what I am supposed to be doing and that it truly is what I am being called to do. I am so overwhelmed that God has called me to live this life.
