I guess you can say we made it to India. After a hurricane delay, spending the night in a church, 13 hour flight to Qatar, 4 hour flight to Mumbai, and a 12 hour layover there, I am writing a blog in India. First, the hurricane has affected all the squads’ travels, and half our squad was split up. My half had an extra flight to Mumbai plus the 12 hour delay instead of a straight flight from Qatar to Hyderabad. It’s all good though, because we made it through customs. I wrote this blog during this 12 hour delay slightly sleep deprived and hungry, because it is 6:30 am in India and nothing is open. This is how the World Race rolls.
The past couple days before leaving we had final training sessions and said our hardest goodbyes. The last training sessions were about safety, evangelism, homesickness, and miracles. We had our final large group worship sessions, which were fantastic filled with so much of the Holy Spirit. The goodbyes to our parents were the hardest part, and even though my mom and dad know this is God’s calling for me it’s still hard. There are so many people who I will miss so much, but I have to trust that they will be there when I get home.
Honestly, it still hasn’t hit me yet that I am gone for nine months. I don’t know how that is still possible, but it is. I am so ready for what is to come though. We got to start our ministry a few days after arriving. We are all still just going with the flow, because we have no idea what is to come.
So thank you for all of your prayers through our travel, and I ask that you would continue to pray for us as we make it to our ministry sights. Update: I am getting better at hearing the Lord’s voice, but I still ask for prayer in that area and discerning what He is trying to communicate to me. I am good though, and it is all good! The Lord has already begun working in our team, and I know He is preparing the hearts of the people we are about to encounter.
