What I’m Thankful For!

(My blogs have been way to serious lately!)
The past few months in South East Asia
have been hard, but I would I do it all over again if I could. Every morning I wake up wishing I could go
home for just a short visit, but I would not give this experience up. It’s hard and heartbreaking at times but it
is worth every moment. Each country I
have gone to and every person I have met has been a blessing. I could easily go back and live in any of the
countries I have visited in the past five months. Not because I liked the country, but because
I feel in love with the people.

I’m thankful for Mexico and our time spent with
Miguel and Miguelito. I even miss the
long car ride from Mexico to
Guatemala
with Miguelito getting sick on my lap.  I’ll always remember the lively church we
spent our days at in Palenque,
and the tarantulas the invaded our rooms at night.

 I’m thankful for Nicaragua and
our time working with Tommy and Linda Gables. It was amazing to be a part of their ministry and to be given the
opportunity to work with those amazing teenagers in Candelaria. There isn’t a
day that goes by that Lisa, Katie, Krystle and I don’t talk about how much we
love those teens.  I’m thankful for
Anthony turning his life over to God and that my parents are now sponsoring
him.

I’m also thankful for Vietnam and for my friends Fuga and
Hannah. I miss riding around the city with them and getting to know their
beautiful hearts. I’m thankful for their
time spent with Jaron when I couldn’t be there myself, and I will always be
thankful for the way Jaron touched my heart. I’m thankful that God put him in my life, and all of yours, so that
there would be people to celebrate his life and mourn his death.

I’m thankful for Cambodia and for all the AIDs
orphans that I spent my days with. When
I first arrived in Cambodia
I hated it! I wanted to leave. Now I’m praying about starting an orphanage
of my own there. I’m thankful that God
allowed me to move on to Cambodia
even when my heart did not want to leave Vietnam and Jaron behind.

I feel bad that Thailand will always be a painful
place to think about. Even though it has
been painful, being in Thailand
has made me very thankful for everyone back home… especially for my amazing family
and friends. I’m truly blessed to have parents that support and love me, and grandparents,
aunts, uncles, cousins, and brothers that actively keep me a part of their
lives even when I am so far way.

This time has also made me thankful for the godly older
women in my life that I miss terribly. I
miss their wisdom, insight, and love. Life
is meant to be multi-generational! So
thank you to all the women in my life who have committed to praying for me, instructing
me in my walk with God, and for simply loving me! I definitely wouldn’t be where I’m at without
you!

Finally, I’m extremely thankful for all my supporters and
everyone who is walking with me on this journey. Your prayers are what keep me going. This ministry and the lives that are being
touched are your ministry too. You’re
support and prayers are what made it possible to touch the lives of the men,
women and children we have been working with this year.

Now for the thing I was hoping to not have to write this
year. I’m almost halfway through this 11
month program (two weeks!), but I’m about $1,000 short on my support. I’m praying to have the rest of this money
raised by the end of next month. So
please consider joining me in the ministry by supporting me financially. If you would like to make a donation online,
just click on the link that says “support me” on the top right of this
page.

Thank you again for your prayers and support! I’m extremely excited to be on this journey
with you! Next stop…AFRICA!  That’s if the Bangkok airport ever opens!
