We are finally in Palenque, Mexico!
It only took us a little under 48 hours to get here. It still doesn’t feel real
to me. Will I really be gone for an
entire year? Or, more importantly, will
the traveling always be this crazy?! Here
is an entertaining recap on our travels…

6pm Saturday: I waved goodbye to my family
and friends in New Jersey and headed to LaGuardia Airport.

12am Sunday: Arrived in Miami, where we spent the night in the
airport.
11am Sunday: Arrived in Mexico, City where we had a 5 hour layover
before flying to Cancun.

6pm Sunday: After arriving in Cancun, we
discovered that we still had a 15 hour bus ride ahead of us. We also discovered that our team debit cards
were not working…which means no money!

9pm Sunday: Finally found money and a bus
and left for Villehermosa…the closest we could get to Palenque. Half our hour team stayed behind because there were not enough seats on
the bus.

2am Monday: Tara and I tried to figure out when and how we got a new bus
driver.

9am Monday: Bus broke down… learned a new
card game. Oh, and the old bus driver
was back.  Where was he hiding?

2pm Monday: Finally arrive in Palenque.

6:30am Tuesday: Second half of the team arrives safely in Palenque.

Thank you for all your prayers as we were
traveling. Although the trip was crazy,
we all arrived safely.
