This month is Unsung Heroes month for our team! Here’s some answers to some commonly asked questions about this month:

What is an Unsung Hero?
“Unsung Hero (n.): Men and women who are dedicated to serving some of the most impoverished populations in the world, yet rarely receive recognition for their dedication and service. These givers may also live with meager conditions but give consistently from an abundance of God’s love. Their names may not be in history books, their acts unknown to the rest of the world, while, unrecognized, they shake a generation and move a culture and ultimately build the Kingdom.”

What is our purpose for the month?
This month, Team Gladiators is spending our time searching for these people and connecting with them. We want to identify the Unsung Heroes we meet in Cambodia and qualify potential hosts for future World Race teams.

Practically, what does your month look like?
Because our Unsung Heroes can be found anywhere and don’t generally have much publicity, we will spend a lot of time in prayer this month seeking God’s direction and guidance. Once we have a particular city/area in mind, we can travel there and seek out potential candidates through research and various connections. We then meet with those people to learn more about their ministry to determine if they are qualified to host future teams. We may stay in one area the whole month or travel to a few different places, depending on the contacts we find and God’s promptings.

How do you feel about doing UH?
I think I can speak for my team when I say we’re all pretty pumped to have this opportunity. Not only do we get to potentially impact future WR teams, but we also get to have a more inside look at how the Kingdom is moving and growing here in Cambodia. We get to meet with brothers and sisters who are trying to accomplish the same goal we have: to glorify God and see His Kingdom expand.

What do you personally hope to gain this month?
My prayer for this month is for God to continue to show me the power of His Spirit inside me and at work around me. We have to fully rely on Him to show us the way and be open to hearing His voice in whatever way He chooses to speak. I know this month will stretch and test my faith in Him.

What are your prayer requests for the month?
-Please pray for safety for our team as we travel and interact with different people.
-Pray for boldness in our own prayers, that we would ask God to do things we’ve never experienced before and would expect Him to show up.
-Pray that we would be intentional in our conversations with those we encounter and can help encourage and love the people around us.
-Pray we serve one another as a team. In many ways, we are each other’s ministry for the month. Pray that we love one another with the love of Christ.
