On paper, my life is as follows: I am 23 years old and a graduate of Bethel College in Mishawaka, IN. I have a degree in Liberal Studies with concentrations in Intercultural Studies, Youth Ministry and Communications. I have a minor in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages). I currently work full-time as a housekeeper at Bethel.
In my mind though those things only just begin to define me. I am a daughter of Christ. His grace is what has brought me this far, in spite of all the odds. I am a wanderer by nature; I love to travel and I embrace change rather easily. I am sarcastic, introverted, reflective, tender-hearted, and I could people-watch for hours on end. These are all aspects of the person God has made me to be.
I’ve chosen to go on the World Race because I believe God is calling me to take this step of faith to both stretch and prepare me for the life plan He has for me. Although in my imagination I love adventure, in reality I tend to choose the safer route. Deciding to go on the World Race may just be the craziest thing I’ve ever done, and I couldn’t be more certain that “crazy” is exactly what He wants from me. I know God has given me this heart for travel and for learning about other cultures so that He may use me as an ambassador to His people across the nations. The World Race will give me the opportunity to see Him at work in ways that I wouldn’t be able to experience now, and will force me to surrender everything to Him as I step into the unknown.
