“Wait… you’re doing what?”

It’s okay, I think that to myself often too. I have no idea what I’m doing, I’m just “going”. The funny thing about serving The Lord is that it truly is an adventure. Sometimes we tend to think that maybe being a “Christian” is this life of boring mediocrity. As if all we do is follow a set of rules and the Bible is the guide to living…

The reality is that it’s a crazy adventure. The reality is that it is full of unknowns. The reality is that it is not boring. I mean, we are serving the God of universe after all.

And I often do think, “Wait… I’m doing what?” I thought that when I graduated high school and moved across the country to Memphis, TN to study Songwriting at a tiny college in a city deemed “horrible” (I love it by the way). Then I thought it again, “Wait… I’m doing what?” when The Lord called me to Kenya. And again “Wait… I’m doing what?” When He called me to switched majors to Worship Leadership. “Wait… I’m doing what?” were the constant thoughts for a year as I pursued various internship possibilities where I eventually ended up back in Kenya. “Wait… I’m doing what?” as I applied, got accepted, and committed to the World Race.

Let’s be honest though, I’m not really doing any of these things. I’m just saying “Yes Lord, I am willing”. This doesn’t mean that I’m not scared, because in many ways I am. It doesn’t mean that I don’t have doubts, because I do. It doesn’t mean that I’m perfect, hah, because I’m far from it. I want to serve The Lord. I want to love Him. I want to learn how to constantly rely on Him. And I’ve been seeing that saying “yes” definitely will take you on an adventure. Perhaps we’re not all called across the globe. But we are all called to “go” (See Matthew 28 + Acts 1:8).

Let’s say “yes”. Let’s say “I am willing”. Let’s “go” because God is moving.

“Wait… God, You’re doing what?”
