An update:

We left Israel on an overnight bus to Egypt on Dec. 28th.
We arrived at the boarder in the middle of the night, everything went smoothly,
and we pressed on towards Cairo.  At about 7am we arrived at the Pyramids which launched our
long day of sight seeing on virtually no sleep (I have a problem sleeping on
buses especially when I’m excited).
It was an incredible day that ended with us getting to the airport around
930pm to make our 1100pm flight to Kenya. We arrived in Nairobi on the 29th
about 6am and it was HELLO AFRICA!

The shift in my spirit was immediate and obvious. I knew
that this was the start of something much bigger than I can imagine. What does
that mean?  I have no idea, except
that God is really shaking things up in this nation and in my life.  I love that fact that He is totally
unpredictable and SO far outside any boundaries we try to confine Him to.  Case in point: Team Phoenix and I were
ministering in Bungoma Kenya, having an amazing time. We were involved in
construction projects at a school there, we were working with the youth in the
church and forming some awesome relationships etc and then out of no where, God
directed me a totally different direction.

 An opportunity
came up for 2 people from our squad to go to Uganda to work along side another
group of young missionaries with our organization who had recently faced some
unexpected challenges and changes and were in need of some outside
encouragement and support. God chose me and my squad mate Andrea as the two to
go. Of course, our squad leader Tamica asked if I’d be willing and without much
question I knew it was the right move. So I said yes to the offer she replied “awesome,
you leaving in the morning”. And that was that.

It was hard for me to leave Kenya, even only for a couple
weeks. I had spent time with some amazing people in Bungoma and I had grown
accustomed to seeing the little kids I loved everyday on our walks to the
church. Leaving my team was hard too…really hard. I love my family and being
without them was never on my radar. I cried.  But God is good. Always good. He knows what all of His
beloved children need and works things for our benefit at all times. So I know
He is doing something beyond my previous expectations. I have been in Uganda
now for almost 24 hours and I know it’s where I am meant to be, for now.

P.S.  We are all
on our knees for the people of Haiti! What a shock and devastation. Please keep
us in your prayers as well, because I have a feeling we will go there to help
with relief…at least I am praying that we do!
