Dear Fabulous friends, family and supporters,
I am officially sitting here in an internet cafe
in the city of San Jose located in the central part of the Dominican
Republic. My team, Luminous, was assigned yesterday to serve in the
mountains to some rural villages. We are all really excited about the
opportunity to say the least. I am presently trying to refresh my
Spanish (as they asked me to be the translator for the team…and my
Spanish is rusty after China needless to say but I am trying!)

The
people here are all so friendly, but watch out for the wild dogs! They
remind me of the ones I carefully walked past in Bali! Yikes! Other
than that, Dave and I are camping out and trying to figure out being
one of the two married couples in a team of singles. Everyone is super
nice….we even had a jam session and bonfire last night but I am
exhausted from the travel, heat and walking to say the least.
