As I was speaking with an Earthquake survivor today, I said, “We prayed for you.” His response, “Thank you. Glory to God.” I thought about that after we finished talking. The more I thought about everything, the more I was overwhelmed. Read this and tell me we don’t have a good God.
– you prayed for Stephenson, and he lived. He was standing in the street waiting for a tap tap (taxi) when the quake hit. For the last 8 nights he has been sleeping in the streets. Today he returned to Canaan. Glory to God.
– you prayed for Yoldine who was in PAP, and she lived. Not only did she live, but her adoption that has been 6 years in the making was approved and she arrived in Florida on Tuesday to her new and wonderful family. Glory to God.
– you prayed for Pascal, and he lived. Pascal was in PAP, living down the street from the Palace. He lived though the Palace fell. Glory to God.
– you prayed for our leaders, Pastor Henry and Sister Gladys. They have remained strong and determined. God has given them energy, direction, and protection. Glory to God.
– you prayed for Canaan. Every building stood strong. No children were hurt. NO CHILDREN WERE HURT! Glory to God.
– You prayed for Nurse Elsie. Without Elsie . . . we would be in trouble. http://www.facebook.com/l/de84c;lckornelsen.blogspot.com/ … Glory to God.
– you prayed for Chris & Leslie who run “Clean Water for Haiti”. They lived. Chris was standing in the street in PAP during the quake. He helped save many lives after the quake. you can read about his experiences here: http://www.facebook.com/l/de84c;rollingsinhaiti.wordpress.com/2010/01/13/earthquake-day-in-port-au-prince/ … Glory to God.
– You prayed for our medical team to arrive from the states. They did. You prayed for Dr. Ric, for him to find a plane, for him to find supplies, for him to get picked up from the airport by Steve. He did. You prayed for the people they treated and MANY lives have been saved already. Glory to God.
– You prayed for Tara & Troy Livesay, our friends in PAP. They lived. Their children lived. Their home is now a clinic/hotel. Their patients were the first to be taken onto the USNS Comfort: http://www.facebook.com/l/de84c;livesayhaiti.blogspot.com/2010/01/day-eight.html … Glory to God.
– You prayed for fuel . . . without fuel Canaan cannot drive into town to search for food. They cannot run their well pump, which gives them clean water. Yesterday Pastor Henry was able to find a gas station that had some fuel. Glory to God.
– You prayed for supplies. Sister Gladys found a store today that was closed, but she got them to let her in the back and sell her some things. First on her list? Toilet Paper. Glory to God.
– You prayed for our malnourished kids. That the Quake wouldn’t keep them from coming to the clinic on Tuesday to get checked in. They came. They received their “Medika Mamba”. Three graduated from the program which means they are no longer malnourished. http://www.facebook.com/l/de84c;web.me.com/bobibender/Site/Our_Blog/Entries/2010/1/20_Where_to_start__%28Bobi%29.html … Glory to God.
– You prayed for 3 of our wonderful nutrition majors from Samford University to be safe. They were, and they arrived back in the states in time for school. Katie Snider & friends are spreading the word about what they saw and raising awareness about Medika Mamba and Canaan. God sent them to Canaan for a great purpose. Glory to God.
– You prayed for Marcus and Bobi, who had just landed at the airport in PAP at 3:45 pm. Within a short time, the Quake hit. They were on the road back to Canaan . . safe and unharmed. Glory to God.
– you prayed for Jonathon Pierce and Allen Tignor, the newest missionaries to join the Canaan team. You prayed God would use them. Right now they are ministering to 90 children going through the worst disaster of their lives. Many kids have lost family members. These 2 great men are here for a reason. Glory to God.
– You prayed for Sister Gladys to make it back from the Dominican Republic. She did. Glory to God.
– you prayed that God would be glorified through this disaster. 13 of the children at Canaan were baptized on Sunday. Even the media outlets can’t ignore the singing in the streets. Glory to God.
I could keep going, couldn’t I? The eyes of many people are on Haiti. I pray the eyes of many people would also be on God.
