Choosing In
Life is full of choices, what we are going eat, wear, how to
spend our free time/money/resources and, of course, what we choose to believe
or place our trust in. For some, that is in relationships, for others family,
and others, money or the idea of success. But when it all comes down to it, we
are all looking for the same things in life, no matter where in the world one
lives, and that is to feel loved.

Yesterday team Luminous went door to door evangelizing in
the rural countryside of Mogollon, a ministry I truly enjoy for two main
reasons:
1) To meet with people right where they are in their homes
2)
To discuss important life issues
I have noticed that, universally, people want to feel loved
and accepted. My team shares the
truth of the Bible and how God desires a personal relationship with them, but
even if the love is available, we all need at some point to “choose in”. Like I said, life is all about choices
and the biggest epiphany I had this week is that once people choose God, it is
just the beginning of a life full of choices to serve Him.
Choosing in one time is not enough. We need to choose in daily. Choose our
attitude, choose our time, choose how to focus our attention and choose how we
are going to live each and every day. This year, my life will be a daily choice
of choosing to serve God. If I
don’t choose in, then I am ultimately hurting all those around me and most
importantly, my relationship with Him.
As I talk to people at church tomorrow, many of whom
accepted Christ this week, my main message will be to “choose in”.
