Welcoming the Rain

This was it. This was the morning that the Lord was going to miraculously provide for me every penny of funding needed for me to launch two weeks from today to the Philippines. However, God’s plans far exceed and surpass my own. As I woke up this morning to the sound of rain, it was refreshing. Living in LA I miss the showers and thunderstorms that help map the midwest as the homing device to welcome all seasons. Today the Lord granted me all the rain that I have missed in my time in LA. I opened the front door so that I could truly see and appreciate the rain. To my surprise my brother’s car and my own already had water up to the tires.

(My car and my brother’s are parked on my parents incline and the water is almost at our tires again.)

 

I crazily awaken my brother and tell him that we have to move our cars and NOW. As we grab our keys and run out my legs are lost in the water almost to my knees. I open my car door and it is only about 1/2 of an inch from have water just begin to rush in to it. Luckily my parents live on a incline so my brother and I were able to slowly drive our cars up and get them out of the water. As I looked at the clock I realized that it was 15 minutes before my mother and I were suppose to leave to get to Bethalto First Christian Church. We couldn’t go. There was no way out. Even if we attempted it. our engines would flood and we would be out a car and money. Not good. This was the day the Lord was suppose to provide. The vaults of heaven were opening for me and my funds were going to come in. I called the church and let them know that there was no way that I was going to be able to make it. After hanging up my mom said, “Call Colleen and have here intercede for you at church today.” Colleen Jumper is an amazing woman of God and has been annointed by him in areas of leadership, and is a very well spoken and genuine. I called Colleen and she said that she would love to intercede and speak on my behalf. Praise God! She knows my heart for this trip and was able to experience it first hand at the dinner and silent auction last night.

 

Once again I must take a backseat and let one of God’s people step up in my place. (If you haven’t read my backseat blog click here.) I can not raise funds on my own. God will provide as only he can. I mean this not only in the areas in finances, but in every other area of our lives.

 

This is the time, Lord. Your way and not mine. Bring your refreshing upon us. Continue to pour on us your living water God. Flood our souls, so that we may be an outpouring unto a generation as we go out to release the nations from the hold that Satan has on them, and bring the back to Your glory. God bless Colleen and her words as she shares with the congregation and informs your people of the ministry that is already occuring through Adventures in Missions. May the hearts of your people be filled with compassion. May they choose to act and fully take part in the work that you are already doing. May they send me out in faith, Lord. Let the generosity of your people be unleashed upon the nations.
