Hola mi amigos!

Well, this is really happing. Two of my teammates fly into LA this evening. Three of us are already here in Southern Cali and the final member of our team flies in on the 25th. We are coming together after saying goodbyes to families and friends, leaving work and the security of a paycheck. We are trading that in for community and loving on strangers, living out of a backpack and on the gifts of others. We are no longer self-relient, but God-relient. What an amazing place to be. Me asking for support isn’t as meaningful without the Father convicting your heart and letting you know that this is a real need with a cause and a purpose to advance his kingdom. Amazing and generous gifts from greatful and cheerful hearts have already been made only leaving me $3500 more dollars to reach my $8500 goal. Many of you know that yesterday (Monday) was my decision day. The decision by AIM is that I go on the October race! Praise God. These amazing men and women of God have been bathing this situation in prayer. They are stepping out in faith knowing that people like you will rise up and cover my support. That is one of the things I love about this organization. What ever they ask us to do they are already doing in the Spirit. They ask me to step out in faith, and they lead by doing it themselves.

That is true Christ-like character and leadership, just stepping up and leading the way by example. I pray that over the next 11 months that I will be able to be that for my team. Not only be able relay to them information for location to location and make those last minute decisions, but that I can truly model the heart of Christ, the heart of a servant. That I will never ask of them something that I am myself am not willing to do. This is community. This is life. This is family. This is the love of the Father. This is the year of the Lord’s favor. May it reign down upon us!
