Hello Friends and Supporters!
I am writing the August newsletter a little early (considering it is the middle of July). I will be in training camp from August 1-10 in Gainesville, GA. During this time will be meeting with all 60 teammates and I will find out what 6 people I will be living in community with over the next year of my life.
There are many things that you can be in prayer for.
1. Understanding: We are excited to finally be meeting each other for the first time. We are all coming from different church backgrounds and are in different places with our faith. Pray that will will have open hearts and minds. We are all saved by the blood of Jesus and need to remember that this is what unites us all as brothers and sisters in the faith.
2. Family: many of us are dealing with family members who are sick and others who aren’t believers and don’t fully grasp the reason for our trip. Be in prayer for healing and for this trip to be a witness. This will also be a hard seperation for our families and for us. Pray that we will be at peace with where the Lord has called us to go.
3. Finances: This is an area where many of us are struggling and the main focus of this update. In just 76 days we will be leaving Los Angeles and departing for the Philippines. In order to launch we need to have $8,280 in our account. As of today, I have at total of $990 raised. I am challenging everyone to contribute in someway financially no matter how small the amount, it makes a huge difference. Please be in prayer over the amount that you can give. On the left-hand side of this page there is a link labeled “Support Me“. There you can make one time or monthly payments. You can also contribute anonymously if you like. My Immediate need to launch is $7,290. I am trusting in the Lord. I know He would not bring me this far without a purpose.
4. Peace: A lot of us have overextended ourselves this summer. There are a mirad of things we are trying to accomplish and get in order before we leave. Pray that training camp with be a time of refreshment for us. Also pray the we will open ourselves up and breakdown walls that are keeping us from being fully in God’s presense and hearing His voice.
I have been blessed by my teammates already through relationships that we have built through our team page and through prayer calls. I can only imagine how we will be brought together after training camp.
