My family.

I recently moved back home for the fourth time (thank you Sissy for reminding me) so i could save money for The Race. Although I gave my parents only a weeks notice that I was coming home (again) they sped up the remodel of the guest room (they were in the middle of fixing it up for my anticipated January move) and welcomed me back with open arms. While my Dad, sister, and I were moving furniture from my apartment to my parent’s house I couldn’t help but think that my dad had to be wishing he’d had boys, haha. But I also got to thinking about how great my family really is. They’re kind of family that will cheer you on, rally around you, offer advise (sometimes unsolicited :)), provide a good laugh, and support you when you really need it. All in all I think they’re pretty great.

Since next year I will be spending the major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and the 4th of July) away from my family I’ve been playing the “I won’t be here next year so we have to do what I want” card. A lot. This maybe selfish of me, but I want to be sure I can absorb all the craziness of my family as I can. So I will knowingly use/abuse this card until July 2012.

So family (blood and friend) when you get tired of hearing me say “But I wont be here for this next year” know that I’m saying because I want soak it all in now. I’m going to miss you (a lot). But know too, that it will be you encouragement, your support, and your love that will be spurring me along and helping me to bring Jesus to the nations.
