Here is a short recap of my team’s month in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. I’ve included a top ten list, as well as a video from our month in case you have not seen it yet!

1. Working and playing with kiddos in the Kampong Chnaang village when we spent 4 days there. They are most of the kids in the video below!
2. Getting a ride on an oxen cart in Kampong Chnaang from a random family we decided to visit when we saw they had some baby pigs.
3. Telling a girl at the university that she was beautiful and it turning out to be one of the few words in English she could understand.
4. Teaching English class at our church to the high school students. It made me feel like I was back in Morocco teaching my ESL students after school πŸ™‚
5. Sharing about intimacy with the Holy Spirit with the singles group, and daydreaming together about what Jesus would say to each of us. He ended up speaking to us in English, Tagalog, and Khmer πŸ™‚
6. Visiting the Killing Fields. I read a book about the Genocide in Cambodia a while ago, but it was crazy to actually be in the place where it took place.
7. Teaching our amazing hosts how to make Mexican food and eating dinner with them.
8. Playing scattergories with the singles group- and our pastor writing “New Jersey Soccer Jerseys” for things you would see at a football game, along with all of his other ridiculous answers! πŸ™‚
9. Eating Filipino food at lunches after church and just having awesome conversations with the Filipino community, mostly teachers, who were living in Phnom Penh.
10. Having coffee dates and getting to spend time with DL teammates and other squad mates who were living in the city for the month.

Oh, and I have to include a number 11. Before we left Cambodia, we drove up to Siem Reap where we stayed at the AIM guesthouse, Overflow Hostel. We had an amazing worship night with most of our squad as well as X squad who was also in Cambodia for the month. We then spent the next day visiting Angkor Wat and lounging around the guesthouse pool πŸ™‚ It was a great end to an amazing month!

This month, just for a quick update, I am with a new all girl’s team for the month. We are working at a children’s home doing manual labor during the day, teaching in the schools, and putting on activities for the kids in the evenings. A blog will be posted soon. Thanks for all of your continued support and prayers! Enjoy the video from Cambodia πŸ™‚
