Top Ten Moments in Nepal
Here is a quick top ten list (in no real specific order) from our month in Pokhara, Nepal, as well as a video below ๐
10. Renting scooters and maneuvering our way through Nepal traffic ๐ And safely returning the scooters afterwards.
9. Prayer hikes around the “hills” where we lived, by the Tibetan refugee camp, and to different temples in the area
8. Quiet time in my hammock by the river. This was definitely a month where I was able to spend a lot of time with the Lord and really just fill up.
7. Visiting the widows’ home and getting to hear some of the older women’s stories and just fellowship with them and pray for them.
6. Helping a missionary family move into their new home. The mom had stage 4 lung cancer, and we were recruited with some YWAM teams to go help. It was just an awesome day of meeting people from all over and seeing everyone come together and pitch in- something the church is obviously called to do. Also, the dad was just super thankful and very encouraging to all of us. It was amazing to see his faith even in a hard situation like this.
5. Coffee dates and just amazing words of encouragement from one of the YWAM girls. I love seeing how God places exactly the right people in my life at the right times, and I am super thankful for the friendships He provided me with this month and just the amazing women of faith the YWAM team we were with was made up of.
4. Street kids ministry. We got to play with the kids, sing songs, play games and share Bible stories with them. It was cool to see the center provide some of the kids with baths and new clothes our first week there.
3. Raising $2900 for the Street Kids ministry in Pokhara in just 4 short days. Thanks to all of the donations, they will have their meal program up and running for at least a year at this point ๐
2. Trekking through the Himalayas and worshipping with Christians in the villages there. Spending time with my team playing cards and just hanging out, when there was no wifi.
1. Worship night (in English!) in a candlelit room with YWAM teams at the base- there were probably at least 10 different nationalities represented, all worshiping the Lord together. This was definitely a race favorite so far.
