Just landed here in Turkey. I’m met with a wall of humid air as we disembark the aircraft. I soon pass hundreds of people every race, every color, and every head dress and covering rushing in different directions. The people of this world are beautiful.
It feels a bit strange to be at this airport for the third time without my squad of 40 next to me.
How quick I had forgotten that “staring is rude” and “personal space” are just American norms. But none of that matters right now, because I’m stoked to be one flight closer to Lindani.
My interest to explore Istanbul on my 8 hour layover was sparked by my new Iranian friend who sat next to me on the 10 hour flight. I’m going to the info desk to see if they have tours, weigh my options, then pray about it.
For now, I must practice my favorite International rule. Put your iPhone away.
To be continued…
I’ll be starting a new personal blog (unrelated to the World Race) on WordPress soon entailing my journey in Africa and where ever else the good Lord takes me.
