It’s been hard to see this month end. Even though God blessed my extroverted heart and put us with THREE OTHER TEAMS for next month(taking out the main reason why I’d been sad for Peru to be over, because I so loved having our whole squad together), and we’ll have hot showers and beds and a washer AND dryer, I’m still not ready to leave here.
I love where we’re living; I got used to the cold showers.
I love the churches we’re partnered with.
I love our sweet ministry hosts who love us so much. And their dog.
But this is what I signed up for. 11 new groups of people to love, and 11 goodbyes.
So…
Goodbye sweet little girl at the tienda; your gringo friends love you.
Goodbye taxi driver who loves Jesus and sings to us the whole way home,
Goodbye Pastor Salomon,
Goodbye sunsets from the roof,
Goodbye potato chip lady,
Goodbye tricycle taxis,
Goodbye precious kids running to hug us on the street,
Goodbye Snickers,
Goodbye creepy clowns hitting on us at the mall,
Goodbye Surfer Burger,
Goodbye Johnny and that song…
Goodbye Peru.
