This took a while. Pray for my attitude if you notice that this is a bit less enthusiastic than my other three “11 things” posts.
1. It’s not as cold as Bolivia.
2. Our contacts love us and want us to be safe. This is why we aren’t allowed to leave our house.
3. I get to live with 18 other people; it’s harder to get cabin fever when I’m never lonely.
4. I get a top bunk for the third month in a row.
5. The internet is FREE! And I get it TWO DAYS a week. After 3 months of having only one day a week, wherein I have to pay to get to someplace where I pay for coffee I don’t want in order to get super slow wifi, this is paradise. The other teams are used to having internet all the time, but me and my team have zero complaints here.
6. I’ll [hopefully] know a lot more Spanish by the end of the month because our contacts speak no English.
7. We have lukewarm showers. The past two months have been ice cold.
8. It has the cutest kids in the world so far.
9. The mountains are even prettier than the ones in Ecuador. The bus ride here felt like driving through the Shire.
10. We get arepas almost every morning for breakfast!(these little corn cake things that are my favorite South American food I’ve tried yet; we had them in Ecuador but only a few times)
11. We get two hours of devotion time scheduled for us every morning. The first hour we do our own quiet time, then the next hour our three teams get together to share what God is teaching us. It’s exactly everything I need.
