Well… It’s been awhile since my last post, and if you didn’t catch a rare glimpse of me at home you might be wondering where the heck I am. No, I’m not stuck in a village in Nepal or Southern Africa. I survived the Race and made it back home in one piece (except for my broken finger I didn’t know about). However, as you probably know by know I don’t tend to stay in one place for too long.
So where am I now?
The plan was to be back in Nashville for the fall, but I got rerouted. So now I am in the last place I expected to be in the world… Gainesville, Georgia.
What am I doing here?
I am in Adventures in Missions’ (who puts on the World Race) Center for Global Action program. It is a discipleship training school where I am taking two courses. One is “Discipleship in Missions” where I am being equipped and trained to be sent out as a long-term missionary. The other is the “Worship Track” where I am learning what it means to have a heart of worship. I’ll give you a hint; it goes far beyond music!

What am I learning?
I have been at CGA for 2 weeks now and that is already a hard question to answer. The Lord has been moving in me big time. First of all I am learning to abide in him… which is a super churchy term but I am learning to cultivate the presence of God in my life and coming to more of an understanding of his crazy, jealous love for me.
I am also learning what it means to be free. Galatians 5:1 says “It is for freedom that Christ has set us free.” Jesus didn’t set us free so that we could follow a bunch of rules or always try to be “good enough” for him. He set us free so that we can be free of pressure and condemnation and be free to be who he made us to be.
This blog is just to update you guys on what I’m up to, but I hope to share in more detail of what God is teaching me soon!
Where am I going?
Like I said, I don’t tend to stick in one place for too long! I will be here in Gainesville until December 20. After that I will make a quick turnaround and be moving to Ethiopia in January! There I have made a 20 month commitment with Ordinary Hero, who I have been with there before. I feel very honored, privileged, and excited to have the opportunity to join in with what God is doing over there right now. What will I be doing you ask? I have no idea… I’ll be working with Ordinary Hero, doing whatever they ask of me, but I will largely be waiting to see what doors God opens for me once I get there.
So that’s an update of where I am in life right now. It may not seem as epic as my life was over the past year but I am learning that in Christ, every day is an adventure no matter where your at. Thank you guys for all your prayers and support over the past year and I ask that you guys will continue to pray for me in this season as I prepare to go back out into the mission field. I will be sharing ways you can support me in Ethiopia and here in Gainesville very soon.
I love you guys and enjoy hearing what God is doing in your lives as well. I’m not going to be at home much from this point on so please always feel free to get in touch with me whenever. I’m also only 45 minutes east of Atlanta so if you guys are ever in the area then let me know!
