hello everyone !!!
As most of you know, I am going on World Race Gap Year 2020!!! If you didn’t know that and are just reading my blog for fun, then hello and welcome to my journey! Gap Year is a nine month missions trip to 3 countries, staying three months in each. My route (Route 5) will take me not only to three countries, but three continents as well!! I will be going to Romania (Eastern Europe), India (Asia), and Costa Rica (Central America). In each of these countries, my team and I will be partnering with a local ministry to help spread the Gospel in their communities.
In Romania, we are partnering with Hope Church in Draganesti Olt. We will be doing evangelism, handing out eyeglasses and Bibles in their language, and just doing outreach with those in the community. On our second stop we will be partnering with Bibles for the World in Manipur, India. With this ministry, we will be evangelizing, church-planting, and helping out in schools to teach children about Jesus. In Costa Rica, our last stop, we will be partnering with Adventures in Missions Costa Rica in San Jose. Through this ministry we will be doing community outreach, sports ministry, manual labor, and kids ministry. I’m really excited, not only about the diversity of each location, but the diversity of each ministry as well!
I’m so excited for this crazy, wild, journey that I’m about to embark on. The World Race has been a dream of mine for a long time, so finally being able to go is sooo exciting and mind-blowing!! I hope that during this trip I can learn new ways to serve and praise Jesus through my every action, breath, and word. That I would be intentional and meaningful in everything I do.
As I just mentioned, WRGY is something I’ve been wanting to do for a long time and so it’s CRAZY that it’s actually here!! A few reasons I wanted to do the World Race is because since I was a very little girl, I wanted to be a missionary. I wanted to do this because I wanted to travel, see how other cultures worshiped Jesus, and just experience life from different perspectives. As I grew and felt the calling on my life become more and more evident, I developed passions and burdens for social issues that occur in other countries in huge ways. The World Race really popped out to me when I first heard of it, because it takes you to different places, all with different issues being present. They also all have different cultures meaning they all worship in a cool, different way. Plus, it obviously allows me to travel a ton and be a missionary in each place for a long time!! YAY!!
My prayer going into this trip is that I can go and do everything that the Lord has called me to, but do it knowing that I’m furthering His Kingdom, bringing others to Christ, and in a way so that others may see His love being poured out to them through me. I pray that I would live not for myself, but for His purpose and His calling on my life. The really cool thing about this trip is that it starts now!! Even though I don’t leave until next September, I have this entire next year to talk about, promote, and live out my life for Jesus here !!
The last thing I wanted to share with everyone is that I’m selling shirts and Pura Vida custom bracelets !!! I have the design for the shirt and everything, I just have to figure out how ya girl is gonna order and have them made !! Also, I thought Pura Vida bracelets would be a super fun cheap way to raise money (+ Costa Rica, Pura Vida???) There is also always the option of donating straight to my page if you feel led to do that. Any amount is appreciated and will be treasured in my heart and soul!!
Thank you for taking the time to read my blog and follow me on this dope journey!! I will be periodically updating this before I leave and then probably once a week after I’m gone. Please be praying for me for guidance and peace in the midst of all of this!!
Thank you again!
peace & blessings!
