Week one.
So it has begun. The transition is here. I don’t leave today, tomorrow, or any day soon to head back to the states. That reality has not honestly set in yet either. The Dominican republic is a beautiful place that screams for Jesus, I asked a friend today, how is it that America has prospered so much more, how is there such a drastic distinction between two places that are only a couple hundred miles away. How can I look around this beautiful city of San Juan and see so much poverty, so many lost souls, so many strongholds, so much potential, yet so few who desire to see a change. Even though our country has drifted so far from our foundation, in the beginning we still desired to honor The Living God.
Here, I look around and see the absence of light everywhere. There are so many boys that have not grown up, so many young women that have no idea what they are worth, so many young children that are neglected. Troubled souls everywhere, if only they knew, there is a hope, there is a way to change it. If only someone could tell these young women every day how they are treasured in their Father’s eyes. If only these boys could be raised up to know what it means to respect a woman and be a man of God.
God has placed our team in a community called las latas. Please pray for them, pray that every moment we spend with them will be spirit filled. Pray that their eyes will be open, pray that their ears will hear, pray that their hearts will receive. Pray that young men and women will rise up to establish a relational ministry and invest into the lives of the generations before them. Las Latas needs your prayers.
GOD IS ALIVE. I love walking all over the city and experiencing His presence in a NEW way.
