Started Kids camp this week with YWAM. Its been a completely different experience than I anticipated. We had almost 30 kids come the first day. We played sports with them and just tried to get to know them. A lot of the kids understand basic English and the YWAM staff helped translate. We also worked on learning a bit Ukrainian.
Today God broke my heart for these kids. I was listening to Harold Guerra and felt lead to just walk around the park and pray for the kids.

We had been praying and declaring God presence in the place for almost a week and I wasn’t going through the motions but I hadn’t felt lead. God just made his presence known to me and showed me a glimpse of the love he has for them. Every girl and boy, every young woman and young man is his and he will love them forever and pursue them. It was heartbreaking to know that most of these kids come from broken homes and don’t have Godly examples besides the YWAM staff.
Overall I love the kids camp. I am starting to build relationships with some of the kids even through the language barrier. They hug us and come early to play. They join in prayer before the rest of the staff show up. They crave affection and attention in a way I have not seen. I wish I had the words to describe to them that my love is but a shadow of the love that God has for them.
Please join me in prayer for the kids and their families. For divine creativity in being able to speak and work with the kids. Pray for boldness in my team to depend on God and not hold back in ministry or in our relationships with each other.
