We are in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania. We are staying at with a host family, our contacts. Their home is on the “beach,” basically there is sand everywhere, but the water is about 16km east.
We are in an area with a strong Islamic background. There are hardly any Christians here. Our contacts arrived a few years ago and were not given a place to rent for a church because most owners were Muslim. They have since become part of this community. They are known for being caring and helping to everyone no matter what religion they are from. Their story is inspiring. They gave up their nice home and life to move to a poor area to spread the gospel. They genuinely love what they do.

For the next few weeks, we will be teaching English and Computer Classes. They are open to the community for free and its a joy to help them. Many of them know a little English, most of which they use incorrectly. Some know the theory behind using a computer, but have never used one.The team volunteered our personal computers to be used for class and they are soo excited. We also do a hut-to-hut ministry during the morning. On Saturdays we visit orphanages in the Dar Es Salaam district and potentially we will help with Saturday School.

I am excited for the ministry opportunity this month. I like the “options” we have and our contacts havve such genuine hearts. Keep reading my blogs to see what we do!!
