I arrived in Kenya very excited. But the excitement was stifled when I received a message from my sister that my grandfather was not doing well and that I needed to contact her ASAP. I sent her an email asking what was going on. I find out that my grandpa is in the hospital and unable to recognize anyone in the family. They put him on hospice. He has been sedated for two days for being uncontrollable. The family was giving up he was going to pass. There was nothing to do. But my sister, mom and dad felt that this was a fight, it was not time for him to pass.
I spent all of Sunday praying for him and my family. Last night I called home and found out all the gory details. My grandpa had become uncontrollable and could not recognize anyone. They took him to the hospital where he started seizing uncontrollable. He was airlifted to the hospital in Houston about a 30 min drive from where we live. They found a small tumor in his brain and they were not sure if that was what was causing the seizures or if the prostate cancer has spread into his body. After two days of being sedated my family decided he should be conscience. He put up a fight when they started taking out the tube that was breathing for him until it was explained to him. He couldn’t see and didn’t know what was going on. He started trying to talk but was too weak. He hadn’t eaten in about a week. Everyone thought he was going to die that night. All the doctors and nurses said he was done for. He began making goodbyes to the family, but then would seem to fight, like he wasn’t ready to go.
My mom, dad, grandma and sister decided to intensely pray. And pray they did. God showed up! The Holy Spirit appeared and flooded the hospital room. My mom started speaking in a new tongue and my grandpa started giving prophetic word to the family. Amazing. Only God.
My grandpa started responding and feeling better. When I spoke to the family they were ready to take him home. He was getting stronger and at the rate he was going he should be walking around by his release date on the 20th. Praise the Lord!!!!!
While finding out how God moved with my grandfather I check out my support account. I needed $8,500 by Sept 15th or I was going to be pulled from ministry for a month to raise funds. I had the $8,500. I don’t know how I got it within a few days. But there it was, praise the Lord. Thank you to everyone that gave!!!!
So in Kenya I learned-God heals. God provides. God is faithful. Expect the unexpected.
