Hi everybody!
Welcome to my first blog post! I figured it was time to finally write a blog because most of teammates have already written three.
Anyway, we have just wrapped up our first month of ministry in Medellín, Colombia. It has been such an incredible few weeks. The foundation that we are volunteering and living at specializes in drug and addiction recovery programs. However, we have served in so many different ministries. The foundation has put us to work in children’s ministry, visiting at a local nursing home, assisting in feeding programs, work projects, street evangelism, teaching English, leading youth group, building relationships with the people within the recovery program, and helping in the kitchen.
I can say honestly that I don’t really have a favorite. Each ministry has taught me so much. I love participating and watching the skits our team puts on for the children, or meeting people on the street being able to pray over them, and singing and dancing at the nursing home.
I’m so grateful to be here in Medellín learning so much from the Lord and witnessing all that’s He’s doing here in this city.
Thank you all for your prayers over this trip and I ask for continued prayer! We still have another month here in Colombia before we go to Ecuador. I know that the goodbyes are going to be difficult. Living in the same building as the staff and volunteers at the foundation has led to quick and strong friendships. They are all so incredible and the work they are doing is really inspiring. If you have any interest in reading more about the foundation, they are called Ciudad Refugio.
