Last week, our first week of ministry in Greystones, Ireland, began with estate beautification at our ministry contacts house, Jim and Cathy. They have three foster children living with them while also full time missionaries to a people group called the “Travellers”.

Travellers are native indigenous inhabitants of Ireland. They are downcast from society and often looked down upon by the upper and middle class.  Many inter-marry, are under-educated, can’t find jobs, are wanderers, and sometimes rely on “street” tactics like stealing, looting, and vandalism to get what they want.  It takes years to gain their trust, but Jim and Cathy have done an AMAZING job showing them the love of Christ. More to come about their story…
Team Crash has been involved in everything from cleaning kitchens, organizing shelves, clearing trees, house construction, painting walls/trim, holding services, women’s meetings, street evangelism at the Spier, and pretty much ANYTHING else you can think of… we’ve done it!
This week, we are staying in Bray, Ireland. We’ll be working with Betel Ministry that helps rehabilitate alcohol and drug dependent people by telling them the Gospel and walking out life in community. On our “in-between” days, we’ll be painting the house where we live.
PLEASE BE PRAYING for a few things…
financial needs on our team as well as Jim and Cathy. They are full time missionaries and have absolutely devoted their lives to loving like Jesus. Lauren Newborn and Kameron Kissinger are in dire need of funds so that they can stay on the field in ministry. Just a little motivation… here’s their blogsites… YOU CAN GIVE ONLINE!
-Betel Missions and it’s inhabitants. I’ve learned that everyone needs the same basic things: hope for a better future, faith in something bigger than themselves, and to be loved and give in return. Pray this ministry and Team Crash can help them see Jesus is the ONLY WAY, and the ONLY PROVIDER for their life!
-Squad Leaders: Kim, Janina, and Kyla. They have some tough decisions coming soon. Pray that they hear clearly from the Lord and have peace about the decisions that must be made. Also pray for the team leaders, as we are always faced with small decisions that build up as we try and use our own strength. Pray that we become EVEN MORE dependent on the God that knows all.
-Jim and Cathy. I can’t brag on them enough. They have really been amazing hostesses in this land. They represent our God well in hospitality, discipleship, and most of all LOVE. Not only do they care for their family, but they are modern Kingdom bringers for a largely unreached population in Ireland. Pray for God to provide for them financially. Pray that God gives them rest. Pray that He protect them as they brave and courageously storm the darkness with Light!!! I sure do love them, I hope you guys will further that love in prayer.
SO! There’s SO MUCH MORE TO WRITE ABOUT! Amazing conversations have been had in the past week. People’s lives have been changed. God is moving (and He’s taking me with Him!). I will try to write out some of these things and post this week!
