Hello! I am adjusting and enjoying my time in Thailand! I wrote a simple poem about what it’s like here. Hope you enjoy.

So, this is the world race.

Sweaty smiles

Bare feet on cool, clean tiles

Warm hugs

and

Weird bugs

So, this is the world race.

Missing peanut butter

And my mother.

So, this is the world race.

Waiting on the bathroom

Brushing your teeth with your water bottle

Dealing with all the smells

So, this is the world race

Living in community

When traveling is new-to-me

So, this is the world race.

New foods

Same struggles

always on the move

So, this is the world race.

New friends

Same desire

Learning to go where He sends

So, this is the world race.

Silly mistakes and missed connections

Jesus daily destroying misconceptions

Of the box you have put Him into.

One day to look back at how you grew.

I’m still unsure

But from what I gather so far…

This is the world race.

Tried and true

Embracing the new

One week in, chasing wind

Walking with the Lord

Fast or slow

Stay or go.

Seeking His pace.

Learning new tastes.

Yes, this is the world race.

 With love,

–Lexi
