Hey everyone!
It’s been a second since I posted on this, but decided to let everyone in on my life. This year has been full of extreme growth and beautiful memories. I found a home in Memphis through school, my church, younglife, and mentors. I prayed for a community as sweet as this one and was so blessed to come home to these people after a year on the mission field!
I often think back on my time I spent on the
Worldrace. As I spent time in Cambodia, Honduras, Guatemala, and Ethiopia serving at refugee camps, teaching English, farming, and sharing the love of God with locals. I learned so much about myself, the heart of our farther, and His people.
Once I shared life with the people in these developing countries I knew I could no
longer turn my back to poverty, brokenness, and corruption. My heart broke in my
goodbyes, knowing as I was headed for the comfort of my home, many still remained in the hopelessness of poverty.
My Calling
I earnestly prayed for tangible ways to love these people, I wanted to not only love
them spiritually but tend to their physical needs as well. After research, prayer, and
conversations I ended up deciding mircocredit/microloans would be the tool I would
use to help pull these people out of the vicious cycle of poverty.
Once I finished my time on the mission field I decided to go to the University of
Memphis to get the education I needed to properly prepare for my dreams of having a
business focusing on digitalizing and distributing micro loans to the people I love so
dearly. (For the sake of this letters length I will refrain from sharing details about these loans if you’re interested in knowing more feel free in to contact me)
I realized class alone was not going to prepare me for this. I dedicated my free time
into studying things on my own, but knew it wasn’t enough. I prayed for an opportunity
to come around that would activate my dream when I came across Global U.
Global U is a program that focuses on studying entrepreneurship, web development,
spiritual growth, and leadership to bring passionate people together to solve some of
the worlds hardest issues. Constructed by world class CEOs, entrepreneurs, and
professors, the program is directed towards launching start ups that will change the
world. After extensive interviews, lots of prayers, and my acceptance, I made the decision to attend Global U. The hope I have in this program out weighs my fear of leaving school.
As I begin this journey I recognize I cant do this alone. While studying and working on our projects we will be living in Spain, South Africa, and Guatemala doing ministry throughout the duration of the experience. The best gift I could ever receive are ones of prayer.
Fundraising
In addition to prayer if you would like to invest in this ministry monetarily I must raise
$19,000. This amount is in two “buckets” – one is tax-deductible for the ministry portion
($10,000) and the other (not deductible) is for the education portion ($9,000).
You can find the link for both the tax-deductible or non-deductible gifts on my blog:
I’d love for some of you to become monthly supporters for the next month. Please
