It’s weird to think how normal things have already become. I’m so comfortable in Cambodia, and have adapted well to the relaxed way of living. I’m writing to inform everyone on what my life looks like in Battambang.

I’m working at a school called New Hope. This school is incredible. It’s lead by the most selfless humans I’ve ever met, and show me Jesus in everything they do. (I’ll have another blog explaining more about them).

I work Monday-Friday 7-5. I start my mornings off teaching my sweet little babies, they are around 4 years old. At first I thought this would be an easy task, but non English speaking 4 year olds are even harder to tame. I teach them simple English like the ABC’s and counting. I’ve learned a lot about patience and showing love through a language barrier. This children are so obedient, kind, and SMART. They blow me away every single day.

In the afternoons we eat an amazing Cambodian meal, and then I teach my older class. The ages range from 14-18. I teach them grammar, which I’ve discovered is NOT my strong suit. But hey fake it til ya make it am I right?

After that, I work on a fish farm that’s at the school to help make income for the teachers. I do things like peel and mash fruit to make compost, put mini plants into sponges, and pull weeds.

We get to share about Jesus with the kids, which I’m very thankful for. I’m learning that ministry doesn’t have to look just like spreading the gospel, rather it can be just spreading love, and letting others know it comes from Jesus.

Some other things I see daily: getting stuck behind cows, nakey children, HUGE centipedes (okay not everyday), crazy rainstorms, no toilet paper, TONS of rice, and and people driving on the wrong side of the road.

I’m so thankful for this crazy awesome life. Praise the Lord! Thank you guys for reading ! Til next time, xoxo!!!
