This Wednesday, my team and I got the opportunity to work with a ministry outside of our normal weekly schedule. We trekked up a very steep and rocky mountain face where we met a bunch of children who didn’t seem to be as tired as us from the climb. An organization called Inca Thaki that we work with takes local kids sand- boarding once a week. It was not only a really radical adventure, but also a tender experience. Chino, Gato, and John (the leaders) so graciously invite these young children into the activities that they love. Sand-boarding opens the door to so many relationships and opportunities to invest into people and share about God and what He’s doing.

This is where the sandy cheeks come in!!!

This is Gato. His real name is Javier. He is one of our leaders with the extreme sports ministry here in Trujillo, Peru. Whenever our team wants to leave the compound he’s the one that has to come with us (poor guy; we’ve taken him to the mall, the grocery store, and next week to the beach!!) Gato has been coming to extreme sports with Inca Thaki since he was 12 and is now pouring into the youth of his community. His love and desire to mentor these kids encourages me every day I get to see it.

P.S. I am still not fully funded! I am currently at $11,700 so I still need $4,100. Thanks for reading and for all of your support!
